Project create/LP&A…
Okay so today in English, we were asked to list good & bad things we had done. I couldn’t think of either but when it came to telling the class hardly anyone had any good things to tell.
People had floods and lists of stories to tell of the things they had done that were bad & it made me think… why is it so hard to think of good things we have done?
I wonder if it’s just because we’re too modest. But then I realize that it’s actually hard to think of any. It’s strange that we jump to remember the bad but coming to think of the good in ourselves… we’re too harsh!!
Today I want you to think about what you like about yourself. We spend so much time focusing on the negative and what we dislike about ourselves that we almost forget that we’re here for a reason & we’re here to be beautiful!
Everyone has something that makes them different to everyone else & makes them happy, so what is it for you?
Lauren’s post on glow* today was about how we always get trapped in the comparison circle & compare ourselves to other girls and what we like about them and bring ourselves down because we don’t have what they do, but we’ve got to remember what we like about ourselves!
So take some time now to think, what do I like about myself?
Stay true to yourself. Always.
Challenge Number One:
- What are your main struggles in life?
- How do you plan to get past these?
I’d say right now, my biggest challenge are my GCSEs. I do well in school without really trying bar science & maths so I’m not exactly very motivated to get my grades up. I’d ideally go to University of Michigan on scholarship but that’s not gunna happen at all if I don’t get most my grades up to an A/A* with maybe a few Bs.
How do I plan to change this? Only thing I can do is revise hard I suppose! I gotta step away from the computer and actually do some work! It’s not gunna be easy because I find it extremely hard to get motivated into doing something I don’t like but all I can do is try.
Loud, proud & awesome (LP&A) is a project I wanna start.
I think self-consciousness is one of the main problems in modern day society. Girls and guys of young ages, starting from about 10 are often made to feel bad about the way they look or act. It’s ridiculous that we still have not grown to accept that some people are different to others and it really is horrific to walk down the corridor in school and hear people making comments to you or someone else simply for being you. You are you and you can’t help that. I don’t want anyone changing for anyone unless it’s themselves and for the better.
Some girls are into fashion, some are into books, some are into both, some are into neither. It’s okay to have your own interests and be the person you wanna be. Don’t feel like you have to conform to the regular because as StarKid say “I’m not defined by boundaries, they will never understand, I’m so much more, than status quo.”
Don’t give in to the pressure to be perfect. Don’t give in to status quo. You are not a “nerd” if you like books and you are not an “airhead” if you like fashion.
You are a human and you shouldn’t have to sit there day after day listening to people giving you these labels and feel down about it.
High school is not forever. It’s one of the biggest obstacles you’re gunna have to face in life. It may be easy or it may be hard but you deserve to get through it, unharmed and untouched.
Now what project LP&A about is you.
It’s designed to celebrate your differences, strengths, weaknesses and altogether just hopefully make you feel better about yourself!
Whether this helps 1 person or 1000 people I want this to succeed.
Each day I’mma post a challenge & the more people that participate, the wider it’ll spread & hopefully we’ll be able to get through the struggles of life together.
Challenge Number One:
- What do you view as your main struggles in life?
- How do you plan to get through these?
